CNN —OpenAI, the company behind the viral chatbot ChatGPT, fired its CEO and founder, Sam Altman, on Friday. The company, in a statement, said an internal investigation found that Altman was not always truthful with the board. ChatGPT launched late last year, making Altman an overnight quasi-celebrity and the face of a new crop of AI tools that can generate images and texts in response to simple user prompts. Google has a rival called “Bard,” and other generative AI tools have been developed in recent months. “I am sure the OpenAI board took this decision after a lot of deliberation,” he said.

Elon Musk announced a sarcastic AI ChatGPT rival called Grok coming to his platform, X, formerly known as Twitter. The company unveiled a series of AI tool updates, including the ability for developers to create custom versions of ChatGPT called GPTs. Humane’s Ai PinHumane introduced its first AI wearable device called the Ai Pin From HumaneHumane, a startup founded by former Apple employees, introduced its first AI wearable device called the Ai Pin, a small blinking gadget that attaches to clothing. The Ai pin, which runs on a Snapdragon processor and boasts a Qualcomm AI engine, is packed with depth and motion sensors, features an ultra-wide camera and a laser ink display. The Ai Pin, which starts at $699, will go on sale in the US on Thursday, November 16.

ChatGPT has more than 100 million weekly active users and 2 million developers, spread “entirely by word of mouth," Altman said. The conference comes a week after President Joe Biden signed an executive order that will set some of the first U.S. guardrails on AI technology. Since taking control in 2022, Tata has spent millions of dollars to update Air India's old planes, while also placing an order for hundreds of new jets.
